The private sector provides experience in handling cargo, that is why the Port of Tampico holds 6 private terminals along the Panuco river bank.

Maritime Terminal Madero (PEMEX)


The maritime terminal Madero is operated by Petroleos Mexicanos. This terminal handles petroleum and derived products. It accounts with 10 dockage positions in 1910 lm, a six million ton cargo capacity and a 36 ft depth, it has railroad access, a dry and reparations dock for vessels up to 50,000 tons of dead weight.



CEMEX México S.A. deC.V.

The private terminal CEMEX handles minerals in bulk. The products handled in its facility are specially cement and clinker.The terminal has a 500 m dock and two dockage positions with a 28 ft. draft depth. In addition it offers five silos to store up to 35 metric tons of cargo and a 1.5 hectare labor field.




Minera Autlán Terminal

The private terminal Minera Autlan operates minerals in bulk: Ferro alloys, manganese, carbon coque. The terminal has a dockage position of 160 lm with a cargo capacity of 60 000 tons, a 22 ft draft depth and a cargo storage area of 108,000 metric tons and 30,000 m2 of labor fields. It also has a duque de alba dock.




Proteins of Tamaulipas (PROTAMSA)

The private terminal PROTAMSA operates agricultural products in bulk, such as soy beans, corn, wheat, fertilizers, cement and wood . It has a 180 lmdockage position and it is 30 ft deep. It has railway access and 4 silos to store up to 30 000 metric tons of cargo and a warehouse with capacity to store up to 6000 tons of cargo.



Termimar, S.A. Grupo Peñoles

This terminal belongs to Grupo Peñoles, company that which handles minerals in bulk such as bentonite, Ilmenita, magnesium oxide, sodium sulfate, . It has a dockage position of 240 lm, a cargo capacity of 800 000 tons and a 30 ft depth. It also has railway access, 2 warehouses with storage capacity of 19,500 metric tons.



Terminales del Golfo S.A de C.V.

The private terminal TEGOSA offers two dockage positions of 520lm and 20 ft. depth, it is mostly used for handling agricultural products specially corn. The terminal has 3 silos to store up to 30 000 metric tons of product.
